PTS offer legal compliance advise and make representation before the Traffic Commissioner or VOSA on your behalf if you should find yourself in this position.

The Transport Manager's CPC qualification is to undergo changes at the end of 2011

Following European Legislation, the study structure is due to change from a National and International qualification to a combination of both to form a new International CPC Qualification.

The examination in December 2011 for the separate National and International qualification will be the last in the present format. After this date those wishing to sit or re-sit the examination will do so under the new syllabus. There will be no opportunity to re-sit any units that have not been achieved.

It is widely expected that those holding the National qualification but not wishing to upgrade to International will continue to hold the same. Those wishing to upgrade their existing National qualification to an International will be required to do so by the December 2012 examination at the latest.

The International examinations for the passenger industry have always been on a twice yearly basis with sittings in June and December.

As yet details of the frequency of the examinations and the content of the new syllabus have not been released to training organisations. The general feeling is that the new examination may consist of two papers, one multi choice and the other written, both of which will contain the International element.

Suggestions have been made to the examining body to offer the International exam to the passenger industry four times next year instead of the existing two, at each exam sitting, but as yet no confirmation has been received.

Of course we await confirmation on the new examination system from the examining bodies and will provide updates as soon as we are informed.
